Fuzz Teddy

Preparation:

My Supplies which you can DOWNLOAD HERE

I make a new folder for selections and name it in order to find easier.

Open images from downloaded file and place in folder of your choice.

Use color key to place colors in custom palette.

Open new transparent image 400 x 400.

Make sure your Layer Palette is displayed.
** Remember to save often! **

BODY

Add New Layer
Selection – Load from disk tb-body.sel from folder you created.
Flood fill with Body Color #E09F77.  ** Leave selected **
Airbrush – Brown #614535 – Round – Size 75 – Hardness 11 – Opacity 20 – Step 25 – Density 8.  Look at illustration for paint guide.
Image – Blur – Gaussian Blur .60 (decimal 6).
Change color to Darker Brown #433127 and spray slightly.
 

Float (Ctrl F).
Image – Effects – Cutout – Fill Interior box not checked – Shadow color Dark Brown #433127 – Opacity 100 – Blur 62.2 – Vertical & Horizontal 0.
Defloat (Ctrl D).

Add New Layer.
Stitching
Draw –Darker Brown #433127 - Freehand - Stroked – Width 2 – Antialias Box checked – Other boxes blank.  Draw line for stitching.  It may take you a few tries to get the line the way you like it.  Just remember a quick way to undo (Ctrl Z).
Eraser – Square – Size 6 – Hardness 100 – Opacity 100 – Step 1 – Density 100.
Erase sections to leave stitches
 

Click Layer 1 off (glasses).
Right click on one of the other layers (in Layer Palette) and Merge Visible.  Double click on Merged Layer and name body.  You can click layers back on to help you see the image, just don’t forget to click off before merges.
SAVE!!!
 

ARMS

Add New Layer
Selection – Load from disk tb-arm.sel.
Flood fill with body color #E09F77.  ** Leave selected **
Airbrush around edges – Brown #614535 – Size 30 – Other settings stay the same.
Image – Blur – Gaussian Blur .60 (decimal 6).
Change color to Darker Brown #433127 and spray slightly.
Float (Ctrl F).
Image – Effects – Cutout – Blur 19.6 – Other settings stay the same.
Defloat (Ctrl D).

Add New Layer.
Stitching
Draw – Darker Brown #433127 - Freehand – Width 1- Other settings stay the same.
Draw line for stitching.
Eraser – Size 4 – Other settings stay the same. Erase sections to leave stitches.
Click Layer 1 and body layer off (glasses).
Right click on one of the arm layers and Merge Visible.
Double click on Merged Layer and name right arm.
Make Layers Visible (glasses)
Right click on arm layer – Duplicate – Image – Mirror.
Click on Copy of arm layer in Layer Palette and drag below body layer.
Use Deformation Tool to rotate and place.
Double click and layer and name left arm.
SAVE!!!
 

 **** You are going to use this same technique for LEGS and FEET ****
 
 

Add New Layer 
Selection – Load from disk each sel.  Look at image for placement.
The only exception is the foot which you will - Duplicate – Image – Mirror - Use Deformation Tool to rotate and place the other foot.
Flood fill with body color #E09F77.  ** Leave selected **
Airbrush – Same settings. Image – Blur – Gaussian Blur .60 (decimal 6).  Change color to Darker Brown #433127 and spray slightly.
Float (Ctrl F).
Image – Effects – Cutout – Same settings.
Defloat (Ctrl D).
Stitching (You can skip this on the legs.  Most of it is covered by the foot.)
Add New Layer. 
Draw – Darker Brown #433127 – Same settings.  Draw line for stitching. 
Eraser – Same settings. Erase sections to leave stitches.
Click other layers off (glasses).
Right click on one of the two layers just completed and Merge Visible.  Double click on Merged Layer and name.
SAVE AFTER NAMING!!!
 
HEAD
Add New Layer
Selection – Load from disk tb-head.sel.
Again you are going to repeat the same process…bet you know it by heart, except change the blur on cutout to 32.2 & no stitching.
SAVE!!!

EARS
Add New Layer
Selection – Load from disk tb - ear.sel.
You guessed it!  Same process, except change the blur on cutout to 11.8 no stitching.  Just need to add inner part of the ear.

Inner ear
Add New Layer
Paint Brush – Pink #F0BDB8 – Round – Size 30 – Hardness 80 – Opacity 100 – Step 1 – Density 100.  Spray inner ear.
Image – Effects – Drop Shadow – Darker Brown #433127 – Opacity 100 – Blur 5.5 – Vertical & Horizontal 0.
Merge ear layers.
Duplicate Layer – Image – Mirror - Use Deformation Tool to rotate and place from left ear.
SAVE!!!

MUZZLE * Warning – not the same *
Add New Layer.
Selection – Load from disk tb-muzzle.sel.
Flood fill with Lighter Tan color #EEC7B0.  ** Leave selected until defloat at end.**
Airbrush – Body Color #E09F77– Size 30 – Other settings stay the same.
Float (Ctrl F)
Add New Layer
Image – Effects – Cutout – Blur 19.6 – Other settings stay the same.
Image – Effects – Drop Shadow – Blur 19.7 – Other setting stay the same.
Defloat (Ctrl D)
You may use my mouth and nose image or create your own.  Just open my image and drag from the Layer Palette to the image you are working on.
Merge muzzle layers and name.
SAVE!!!
 

EYES
Add New Layer and name eyes (make sure you put under muzzle).
Again you may use my eye or create your own.  Just open my image and drag from the Layer Palette to the image you are working on.  (Ctrl C & E) to copy and paste.
SAVE!!!

Decorate your bear!!!  Hope you had fun.
