This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

I left a background layer.  You may want to flood fill to help you see better.  You can delete this layer before merging.

You will be using the Retouch Tool with Smudge and Lightness to Target.  There isn’t a lot of smudging though.

Open Silky Bunny ©2003 Carla Polston canvas & bunnyfur_cp fill (You can click on the bar at upper right on title bar to minimize.)

Now we’ll smudge the fur out some.
Retouch Tool at the following settings:

Click on each layer on the Layer Palette and smudge in direction the hair would flow.
I started on the bottom layer (front foot) and worked up.
When I got to the body layer, I changed the size to 35 and  left there.

Now we need to darken a little around some of the edges.
You may want to load the Alpha Channels as a guide, but it’s not necessary.  Just use smaller strokes and hit (Ctrl Z) to undo if you don’t like.

Click on the cornered arrow on the Styles on the Color Palette to change the Foreground and Background.  You can Null Background.  If you changed the color, it is #96806A.

Use Retouch Tool at the following settings:

Let’s start at bottom layer (front foot) again.
This is the process we will use to darken.  (Even thought the Retouch Tool says Lightness to Target, we’ll be using it to darken a little for shadowing.)
• Keep brush mainly on the image above the layer you are darkening with just a little flowing over onto the area you want to darken.

Click on each layer from bottom up and darken where you feel necessary.  Don’t be afraid to go back and darken a little more.  I did!
