This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

You may want to duplicate (Shift D) and close original.

I left a background layer.  You may want to flood fill to help you see better.  You can delete this layer before merging.

Select the fills you would like to use.  Click on the image and drag over to PSP workspace.  You can copy and paste as a new image, but I prefer the drag method.
NOTE: I created these fills for use with my tutorials.  You may use on web pages, but do not offer for downloads anywhere.

Santa's Hair Fill 

HOOK
Click on hook layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – hook
Flood Fill Black
SAVE

HEAD
Click on head layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – head
Flood Fill #E3CACA
SAVE

EYES
Click on eyes layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – eyes
Flood Fill Black
SAVE

CHEEKS
Click on cheeks layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – cheeks
Flood Fill #CF9C9C
SAVE

BEARD
Select santa hair fill for Foreground Style.
Make sure Background Style is null.
Click on beard layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – beard
Flood Fill with fill
Deselect (Ctrl D)
Use Retouch Tool – Smudge in the direction of the wavy lines through beard to break up the pattern. The lines are just to show you the direction.  You do not need to draw the lines.

SAVE
 

MOUSTACHE
Click on moustache layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – moustache
Flood Fill with fill
Deselect (Ctrl D)
Effects – 3D – Drop Shadow
• Vertical & Horizontal 0
• Opacity 20
• Blur 5
• Color Black
SAVE

I went out of order here, so you wouldn’t have to go back and forth between fills.

HAIR
Click on hair layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – hair
Flood Fill with fill
Deselect (Ctrl D)
Effects – 3D – Drop Shadow
• Vertical & Horizontal 0
• Opacity 20
• Blur 5
• Color Black
SAVE

NOSE
Click on nose layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – nose
Flood Fill with your choice of fill
Deselect (Ctrl D)
*Optional:
Effects – 3D – Drop Shadow
• Opacity 30
• Other settings the same
SAVE

HAT
Click on hat layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – hat
Flood Fill with your choice of fill.  (I angled 45%, your choice here.)
SAVE

HAT TRIM
Click on hat trim layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – hat trim
Flood Fill with your choice of fill.  (I angled 0 & scaled 75 your choice here depending on the pattern you use.)
SAVE

HAT DETAIL
Click on hat detail layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – hat detail
Flood Fill with Black
SAVE

BUTTON
I put two buttons on the canvas.  Pick the one you prefer or use your own.  You can right click on the Layer Palette the button layer you don’t want and delete.

All finished!

You may delete background layer and merge visible.
(DO NOT MERGE IN HOOK LAYER IF YOU WANT TO USE ON SIG TAG OR BOARD.)
