This tutorial was written using PSP9. You can do this in other versions but settings may vary and may be located in a different places.

ALPHA CHANNELS used on this tutorial. You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file. Everything you need is on the canvas. Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible (F8).

Save to a location of your choice.

Open Christmas Tree 08 by Carla Polston canvas

Flood fill background layer to help you see better if you would like to. I use white. You can delete this layer before you merge.

You choose the colors you would like to use. You will have to adjust Brightness and Contrast to go with the colors you used. If you used lighter colors you may have to move the Brightness down. For darker colors, move the Brightness up.

Bottom Pots
Click on pot1-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – pot1-cp
Flood Fill: Your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – pot2-cp
Flood Fill: Your choice (a little darker hue).
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail1cp.
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast - Adjust for color you used.

Brightness: -50
Contrast: 50

Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail2cp.
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast - Adjust for color you used.

Brightness: -40
Contrast: 50

SAVE

Star
Click on star-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – star-cp
Flood Fill: Your choice
Effects - 3D - Inner Bevel

SAVE

Buttons and Bows
You can use the buttons and bows I provided or create your own to decorate. I made some selections for you to use for button sizes if you would like to. You may colorize mine if you want to. Just click on the red x to make them visible and delete the layers of the ones you do not want.
