This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

With Christmas coming, I figured it doesn’t hurt to have another bow tutorial.  They are great for putting on packages and trees.

You can use the same technique for fills with a slight change to how you apply the cutout.  Fill the area you are working on.  Then unlock the transparency by clicking on the lock to the far right of the Layer Palette.  Do not check the Fill interior with color box.

I left a background layer.  You may want to flood fill to help you see better.  You can delete this layer before merging.
