Victorian Stocking
The inspiration for this tutorial came from a very creative lady!

Please make sure you have read them.

You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.

I left a background layer.  You may want to flood fill to help you see better.  This image is fairly transparent. You may want to flood fill with the background color you want to use the image on and select colors that will go with the background.  You can delete this layer before merging.

Duplicate image (Shift D) and save the original.
Save As and name in PSP format.
Use any fills or colors you want. I provided what I used. You may colorize the fill.

Stocking 1
Click on stocking1-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – stocking1-cp
Flood Fill with stocking1fill-cp Pattern

  • Angle: 45
  • Scale: 50
Adjust - Brightness and Contrast - Brightness/Contrast
  • Brightness: -60
  • Contrast: 25
SAVE

Optional
You can add a New Layer here to place items in the stocking.

Stocking 2
Click on stocking2-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – stocking2-cp
Flood Fill with stocking1fill-cp Pattern - Same setting
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F) Effects - 3D - Cutout

  • Vertical and Horizontal: 0
  • Blur: 31
  • Opacity: 100
  • Shadow color: #81a7c7
Select - None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Stocking 3
Click on stocking3-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – stocking3-cp
Flood Fill #dae9f8
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F) Effects - 3D - Cutout

  • Vertical: 1
  • Blur: 5
  • Other settings stay the same
Select - None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Stocking 4
Click on stocking4-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – stocking4-cp
Flood Fill #b8d0e5
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F) Effects - 3D - Cutout

  • Vertical: -3
  • Horizontal: 4
  • Opacity: 80
  • Blur: 21
  • Same Shadow color
Select - None (Ctrl+D)

Click on stocking9-cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – stocking9-cp
Repeat the same steps as above.

Stocking 10 through 13
Click on each layer on the Layer Palette
Load From Alpha Channels the corresponding selections.

You may delete the backgrond layer.
