BY...doing this tutorial you are agreeing to the Terms of Use

Please make sure you have read them. Since I am not providing selections or fills, you may use this graphic as you wish. I am just providing you with the technique. The tutorial itself still follows my terms.

This is a learning tutorial for PSP versions 9 and above. You may be able to use version 8. I do not remember if it has the Mesh Warp Tool. I hope you will learn some new techniques while using this tutorial. The rose is created with just the Selection Tool using the Selection Edit along with the Raster Deform Tool and Warp Mesh Tool.

One thing you may want to do before you start this tutorial is to put the Edit Selection Tool on your Standard Toolbar. I keep mine on the Layer Pallet. It is easier for me to access there. You will notice the top of my Layer Palette has the tools I use often. Yours will not look like mine. I have everything customized for PSP even shortcut keys. I love this feature. That is the reason I could never go back to using versions below 8.

Right click anywhere in PSP - Select Customize
On pop-up - Commands Tab
Under Categories - Selections
Under Commands - Edit Selections (toward the bottom
Just click on it and drag it up on the Standard Toolbar or on top of your Layer Palette.
If you did not know how to do that, maybe you will go back and customize your Toolbar now. Better yet, create your own Toolbar. Just click on the Toolbars tab under Customize - New - Name. Drag the tools you use most to the Toolbar you created and your set. You can also select your shortcut keys under the Keyboard tab. You'll really enjoy PSP a lot more or at least be able to complete projects quicker if you have your tools handy for you.

On to the Rosebud~>
Make sure your Status Bar is visible.
View - Toolbars - Status
If you have not customized and move it, you will find it at the bottom of the screen. I will give you the coordinates to help you get started.

New Transparent Image 300 X 600
You may want to Flood Fill this layer and use it for a background. It is easier for me to see this way.

These are the colors I used:

You may want to click on this and drag over to the new image you just made in PSP. This way it will be handy just to select your color.
SAVE and name this to a location of your choice.

Hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
