LADY'S   FACE

I've had many people requesting a tutorial on a face.  I have been experimenting and modifying to get it simplified enough to write this tutorial for you.  Once you have the general idea, you can experiment and work with adding more detail.

New  Transparent Image
250 X 250 or larger.
You may want to magnify 
while working to see
details.
Make sure Layer Palette is showing!
 
 

Step 1 New Layer (Layer 2 - Head)
Name head because I'll refer to this layer later and it will make it easier to find.
Use preset shape - Ellipse - filled with Vector box checked.  Draw oval. 

Convert to Raster!
Step 2
(Nose and Eye Shadow)
 
 

Float (Ctrl A & F).
Keep selected through Step 3.
Add New Layer


 

Step 3

(Cheek and Upper Lip Shadow)
Add New Layer
Keep floated!
 
 
 
 

Step 4
Add New Layer
(More Eye Shadow)
Defloat (Ctrl D)
Draw one side then
Duplicate, Mirror, and Merge both eye shadow layers.  Don't forget to check off other layers before merging.


Layer Opacity 50%
(On Layer Palette)

Step 5
(White part of Eye)
 

Click under eye layer (Step 4)
on Layer Palette.
Add New Layer
 
 


Layer Opacity 60%
(On Layer Palette)

Step 6
(Nose Detail)
Click back on top layer in
Layer Palette (Step 4 - More Eye Shadow).
Add New Layer
Step 7
(Lips)
Add New Layer
Use short strokes. 
Undo (Ctrl Z) if needed.
Step 8
Add New Layer
(Lip Detail and Highlight)
 

After you complete this step, you may use
Deformation Tool to resize lips.  I made mine smaller.
Use mover tool to make any adjustments.  I moved nose and lips over a little.

 

Step 9
(Nostril)
Click back on head layer on Layer Palette.
Add New Layer

Step 10
(More Nose Detail)

Add New Layer
 

Step 11
(Chin Shadow)

Click back on head layer on Layer Palette & (Ctrl A & F) to float.  Keep selected!!!
Add New Layer
