New Image
For this tutorial, start with 200 x 200. After you get the general idea, you can create these with other settings and other sizes.
I Flood Fill with #80ffff because I am planning on using white and want to see it.
Preset Shape - Here are the settings I used. You will want to experiment some.

Set Foreground and Background to any color you choose. You can always change later.
You already have Create on Vector checked, so it will create the first vector layer for you.
Drag out the design - any size is fine, but larger will be easier to see and work with. Mine was 150 x 150.
Select the Object Selection Tool.
Hold down the Ctrl key and drag one of the top nodes in.
Hold down the Ctrl key and drag one of the bottom nodes out.

Go back the the Symmetric Shape tool (H key)
Right click on the top node
Node Type - Symmetric
You may want to magnify and drag the edge of your image space out. I went off the edge of my image.
To drag out the edge of the image, hover over one of the edges or corner until your pointer changes to a two pointer arrow. Then you can click on the edge and drag.

Drag out the arrow a little to round off some. Try to keep it pretty straight.
Mine was to narrow, so I used the Object Selection tool to drag out the sides to make wider, rotated a little and used Ctrl and nodes to get it the way I liked. You can leave it where it is or play a little.

Now would be a great time to save as a Preset Shape. This way you can use over and over any size.
Click on the + sign next to the Vector layer on the Layer Palette.
Double click on the New Symmetric Shape layer beneath it and name as you wish to save as Preset name.
File - Export - Preset Shape
Type in name - OK
Right click on the Vector layer on the Layer Palette - Duplicate
Double click on the layer below the bottom vector and change the Vector Property by checking off the Stroke.
You can also change the color and line size if you wish.

Double click the layer below the top vector (Copy of Vector) layer and change the Vector Property by checking off the Fill.
You can also change the color if you wish.
You may want to save this original and make a duplicate (Shift+D).
Right click on both Vector layers on the Layer Palette - Convert to Raster Layer
I changed the color of the ornament (bottom layer) to #dfe8ff and applied the following Inner Bevel. You may need to make adjustments depending on size and color.

I applied the following Inner Bevel to the design (top layer).

Use the Ellipse Shape to create each of the followingon it's own Vector Layer:
I just selected two colors from the gold trimming. If you want the same two, they are Foreground: #ad7c53 and Background: #fdea97.

This is the Inner Bevel setting I used on the bottom ellipse just created.

This is the Inner Bevel setting I used on the top ellipse just created.

This settings will give you a start, but you may need to adjust according to color and size.
I added one more ellipitical shape for the hanger
Foreground: #fdea97
Background: Null
Width: 3
Use the Object Selection to Rotate and move. I held down the Ctrl key and moved the top right node in.
I applied the same Inner Bevel last used changing the Width to 1
There are many ways you can use this idea. I hope you will experiment and find some more unique and interesting things for it. I used this idea for the wings on the turkey I created for the Dames' Membership site. It would make great angel wings. That may be the next tutorial.
Make duplicates (Shift+D). Then experiment with Colorizing (Shift=L) and Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) before merging layers.

You may want to use the Deformation Tool to adjust shape and sharpen.
Merge visible and SAVE! You may want to tube. Now you can add them behind any image you would like.
Hope you have enjoyed this
tutorial.
