and Preset Shape MEMBERS ONLY TUTORIAL |
Yes, you can! Not a lot of node editing. You will learn how to create a vectored image and make it inti a Preset Shape. Then you will create a detailed image from it.
I'm not going to give you the specific coordinates on this one. I think you can do it just by looking at the image.

New Transparent Image 188 X 222 Foreground: Null Background: Color of your choice (#ffff00) Preset Shape - Rectangle (PSP below 8 may want to use the rounded rectangle) I used a Horizontal and Vertical Radius of 9 with the Anti-alias checked. I keep Anti-alias checked throughout the tutorial. Drag out a long narrow rectangle in the center of the canvas. Click the check SAVE |

Foreground: Null Background: Change to another of your choice (#0ce80c) Preset Shape - Ellipse Drag out an elliptical shape toward center bottom. Right click on the image - Convert to path Pen Tool 1 - Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click on the left and right nodes. Use the up arrow key on the keyboard to move up. 2 - Click on bottom node and drag out the end of the arrow a little. 3 - Hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and hover over the top node until you see Merge, then click on it. 4 - If you notice the top line is uneven across, just drag either the left or right node up or down. I wanted mine just a little larger, so I used the Object Selection Tool to resize and move over a bit. When you have it the way you want it, click the check SAVE |

Right click on this layer on the Layer Palette - Duplicate Click on the + sign next to the Copy of the Vector layer you just duplicated on the Layer Palette to show the layer below it. It will turn into a - sign. Double click on the bold New Rectangle layer under Copy of Vector2 to get the Vector Property. Click on the fill color and change it to another color of your choice (#4040ff) on the Material Properties. Use the Object Selection Tool to Move up and Resize a little in on both sides. SAVE |

Keep duplicating each of the top layers and following the above method to stack different colored rings going up. Optional ~ Preset Shape - Rectangle again - clicked on each layer and adjusted the Horizontal and Vertical Radius to round the edges more. Use the Object Selection Tool to make any final adjustments. You can use the Crop Tool to crop closer if you want to. SAVE |
SAVING AS A PRESET SHAPE
Now you have a vectored image. I strongly suggest saving it as a Preset Shape. I wish I would have known to do this when I first started creating vectored shapes. This way you can use over and over again using many different modifications.

I usually duplicate (Shift+D) the original and put away. Duplicate this again so you will have one to detail without needing to drag all the layers back to their own layer. (Just trying to save a few steps here.) Save and name one of the duplicated ones for detailing. I don't save the other. Once I put it into my Preset Shapes, I delete it. I already have the original saved. Click on the + sign on all the layers on the Layer Palette to show the layer below each Vector layer if they are not open. You will have a - sign by each layer. We did not put the base on its own layer, so we need to do that now. Click back on the bottom Vector layer on the Layer Palette (Vector1). Layers - New Vector Layer Drag the ellipse (base) up to its own layer you just created above. When I am saving to a Preset, I usually name the layers. This helps later on when I am using. If you want to name them, just double click on the layer on the Layer Palette and name in the pop-up. You want to drag all the layers under one Vector layer on the Layer Palette. It does not matter if you drag up or down, just keep in order. Also keep the group bow together by dragging the group layer instead of the two individual layers below it. Hold down the Shift key and click on the all the layers you placed under the one Vector layer to select. You do not need to delete the empty vector layers. Right click on any of the selected layers on the Layer Palette - Group Double click on Group 1 on the Layer Palette - name as you wish on the pop-up, but make sure the name does not already exist in your Preset Shapes. File - Export - Shape Now you should be able to find it in your Preset Shapes. |
