Where did Bezier go? (Written for PSP8.)
Using pen tool in drawing mode creates images like Bezier in fewer steps.
Let’s play with this tool a little to become more familiar with it.Open a New Image (any size).
I used 300 X 300.
You may want to Flood Fill to help you see better.![]()
Use the Pen Tool in drawing mode. (Your Tool Bar will probably look different. I customized mine.) Have Create as vector checked.
• Choose any color for Foreground and Background.
• Line size can be of your choice. You may want to keep below 5 if you are working on a smaller sized image.
• We’re just going to play a little to become familiar with this tool.Click mouse button close to the center of the screen.
Click again anywhere you want but do not release the mouse button.
Drag in any direction you want, then release the button.![]()
Keep going – Click in another place and drag.
See what you can create.![]()
You can click on any node and adjust by dragging to another place or pulling arrow in or out.
Try going across the object you are creating and see what happens! (EXAMPLES below!)
If you would like the object to join, drag the END node and drag over the node you would like it to join until you see JOIN, then release.Right click and start a New Drawing Object
You may want to change colors
This time we’ll drag the Start point also.
Click anywhere on the screen but do not release the mouse.
Drag any direction you want, then release the button.
Click again anywhere you want but do not release the mouse button.
As you are playing, you may discover you can begin a new START point by clicking on any node other than the START or END node, then click on another spot away from the current image. You will see another START point (This will not be created on a new layer). See the yellow in the image. Here are the five layers I have to show some examples

Blue with Green – End not joined
Red with Yellow – Joined end
Purple with Pink – Going over lines (I dragged this layer below the others so you could see them.)
Yellow with Orange – Ends not joined and new START points
Aqua with Yellow – Ends joined and new START points
Keep playing!
Create new objects by right clicking and change colors if you like.
When you finished playing, you may want to go HERE and try creating a flower.Hope you have enjoyed this tutorial.
