This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

Download Supplies HERE 
Save to a location of your choice.



I left a background layer.
You may want to flood fill to help you see better.
You can delete this layer before merging.
Have you Layer Palette open

Foreground: #404040
Background: #d9e3eb
Click on solarlight1cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – solarlight1cp
Flood Fill: Foreground (left click)
Effects - 3D - Inner Bevel
Inner Bevel
SAVE


Click on solarlight2cp layer on Layer Palette
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – solarlight2cp
Flood Fill: Background (right click)

Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail1cp Adjust - Brightness and Contrast (Shift+B) SAVE

Optional ~ You may add some glow behind it if you would like to.
Click back on solarlight1cp layer.
New Raster Layer
Load solarlight2cp Alpha selection
Flood Fill with the color you would like to use. I used bright yellow.
Select None (Ctrl+D)
Image - Increase Canvas Size. (I added 30 pixels to each side.
Adjust - Gaussian Blur: 20

You’re finished!  You may delete the background layer and merge visible.
