I wrote this using PSP9 in February 06, but you can do it in other versions if you are familiar with the program.

Base has been provide HERE in png format.
PSP Version 8 and above and just drag it over to your workplace. It will be transparent.

PSP Version below 8 will need to:
  • Right click Copy
  • Right click Paste as New Image to workspace.
  • Right click on Background layer on Layer Palette - Promote to Layer
  • Use the Magic Wand to select background color.
  • Selections - Modify - Select Similar
  • Tap Delete key on the keyboard

Use the Color Replacer Tool to change colors if you would like. To use:
  • Foreground: Select the color you would like
  • Hold down the Ctrl key and hover over the color you would like to change and left click on the color to make it the Background color.
  • Double click on the image and it will change all of that color to the Foreground color.
You may want to add another layer and drag it below Raster1 layer on the Layer Palette to Flood Fill. I like to use a white background. It just helps me see better.

I magnify to around 250% while working and go back to original size to see how it looks while working on the image.

Top Part of Paws
Use Magic Wand to select inside all of the top part of the paws:
  • PSP Versions 8 and up
    • Use Mode: Add in Tool Options for Magic Wand
  • PSP Versions below 8
    • Hold down the Shift key as you click in all the areas.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: 1
  • Horizontal: 0
  • Opacity: 100
  • Blur: 2
  • Shadow color: A little darker than outline #e6d5c6
  • Fill interior with color not checked
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Toes
Use Magic Wand to select inside all of the toes.

Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: 3
  • Blur: 4
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Tail
Use Magic Wand to select inside tail.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -3
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Body

 Use Magic Wand to select inside body above the head.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -5
  • Blur: 8
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE


 Use Magic Wand to select inside right side of body.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -2
  • Horizontal: 6
  • Blur: 10
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE


 Use Magic Wand to select inside left side of body.

Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Horizontal: -6
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)

Ears
Use Magic Wand to select inside outer (cream) part of the ears.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -3
  • Horizontal: 0
  • Blur: 2
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)

Use Magic Wand to select inside inner (pink) part of the ears.
Flood Fill: #e9c9c9 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: 4
  • Blur: 8
  • Shadow color: #c77e7e
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Head
Use Magic Wand to select inside head.
Flood Fill: #f0ebe4 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -5
  • Blur: 11
  • Shadow color: A little darker than outline #e6d5c6
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Muzzle
Use Magic Wand to select inside muzzle.

Flood Fill: #f9f6f1 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical and Horizontal: 0
  • Blur: 8
  • Other settings stay the same
Effects - 3D - Drop Shadow
  • Vertical: 1
  • Horizontal: 0
  • Opacity: 100
  • Blur: 5
  • Color: #e7d6c7
Apply Cutout again.
Nose
Use Magic Wand to select inside nose.
Flood Fill: #e9c9c9 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Cutout
  • Vertical: -3
  • Blur: 6
  • Shadow color: #c77e7e
  • Other settings stay the same
Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Eyes
Use Magic Wand to select eyes.
Flood Fill: #e9c9c9 or your choice
Selections - Float (Ctrl+F)
Effects - 3D - Inner Bevel - Jasc Round setting
SAVE

Selections - Select None (Ctrl+D)
SAVE

Delete the base image and Merge Visible.
