Gingerbread Graduate

This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

GINGERBREAD BASE
Please go HERE and complete the base for all the gingerbread series.
Have the image open and ready to use along with the open canvas for this tutorial.

Open Gingerbread Graduate ©2005 Carla Polston canvas

Duplicate (Shift D) and close original to save for another use.
Save in PSP format and name as you wish.

I left a background layer.
You may want to flood fill to help you see better.
You can delete this layer before merging.
Have you Layer Palette open

BOTTOM CAP
Click on bottom cap-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – bottom cap-cp
Flood Fill #4f3d43 or color of your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail1-cp
Adjust Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B). You may have to adjust for color used.

• Brightness: -80
• Contrast: -40

GINGERBREAD
Click on gb base-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – gb base-cp
Click on the premade base image (Ctrl C) to copy.
Click back on the gingerbread base layer of the new image (Ctrl+Shift+L) to paste into selection.

GOWN
Click on gown-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – gown-cp
Flood Fill #4f3d43 or color of your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail2-cp
Adjust Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - Same settings
SAVE

TOP CAP
Click on top cap-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – top cap-cp
Flood Fill #4f3d43 or color of your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail3-cp
Adjust Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - Same settings
SAVE

TASSLE
Click on tassle-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – tassle-cp
Flood Fill #d5ab45 or color of your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail4-cp
Adjust Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B). You may have to adjust for color used.

• Brightness: -80
• Contrast: 30

DIPLOMA
Click on diploma-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – diploma-cp
Flood Fill #fbefe3 or color of your choice.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail5-cp
Adjust Brightness/Contrast

• Brightness: -100
• Contrast: 40

You may delete background layer (bottom layer), merge visible and SAVE!
