This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

Download Supplies HERE 

Duplicate (Shift D) and close original to save for another use.
Save in PSP format and name as you wish.

I left a background layer.
You may want to flood fill to help you see better.
You can delete this layer before merging.
Have you Layer Palette open

GINGERBREAD BASE
Please go HERE and complete the base for all the gingerbread series.
Have the image open and ready to use along with the open canvas for this tutorial.

DESK
Click on desk1-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – desk1-cp
Flood Fill Jasc Woodgrain 01 or your favorite wood fill

  • Angle: 0
  • Scale: 100
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – desk2-cp
Flood Fill with the same pattern changing the Angle to 90
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail 1-cp
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B)
You may have to vary these setting if you use another fill or color.
  • Brightness: -100
  • Contrast: 100
SAVE

PAPER
Click on paper-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – paper-cp
Flood Fill #f0ebe4
You may want to magnify to fill the lines.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – lines1-cp

Click on books-cp layer on Layer Palette.

GINGERBREAD
Click on gbread base layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – gb base-cp (at bottom)
Click on the base image (Ctrl C) to copy.
Click back on the gingerbread teacher image (Ctrl+Shift+L) to paste into selection.

BLOUSE
Click on blouse-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – blouse-cp

  • Brightness: -100
  • Contrast: 50

SKIRT
Click on skirt-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Little different here. You can load the selection and fill with a color or pattern of your choice.
Effects - Geometric - Perspective - Vertical

  • Distortion: -100
  • Transparent
Flood Fill with the skirtfillcp provided in zip file.
  • Angle: 0
  • Scale: 100
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – skirt-cp
Use the mover tool to move the fill into selection as shown:
Skirt View
Selections - Invert
Tap the Delete key on the keyboard

Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - same settings

JEWELRY
Click on necklace-cp layer on Layer Palette.

  • Contrast: 70
I decided I wanted my bow a littler brighter
Select None (Ctrl+D) Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B)
  • Brightness: 5
  • Contrast: 45

You may put a teacher's name across the front of the desk

You may delete background layer (bottom layer), merge visible and SAVE!
