This tutorial uses a different technique.  You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.  Everything you need is on the canvas.  Make sure you have your Layer Palette visible.  You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).

Download Supplies HERE 

GINGERBREAD BASE
Please go HERE and complete the base for all the gingerbread series.
Have the image open and ready to use along with the open canvas for this tutorial.

Open Gingerbread Schoolboy Š2004 Carla Polston canvas

Duplicate (Shift D) and close original to save for another use.
Save in PSP format and name as you wish.

I left a background layer.
You may want to flood fill to help you see better.
You can delete this layer before merging.
Have you Layer Palette open

This is such a short tutorial, I didn't remind you to SAVE after each step. You may if you would like to.

GINGERBREAD
Click on gb base-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – gb base-cp
Click on the base image (Ctrl C) to copy.
Click back on the new gingerbread image (Ctrl+Shift+L) to paste into selection.

SHORTS
Click on shorts-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – shorts-cp
Flood Fill #53546D
Optional - Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add 8% Uniform
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – cuffs-cp

Optional - Adjust - Add/Remove Noise - Add 8% Uniform

Adjust Brightness/Contrast (Shift B)

  • Brightness (-100)
  • Contrast 50

SHIRT
Click on shirt-cp layer on Layer Palette.
You may want the shirt solid colors or a fill of your choice. If you do, you may load all the shirt selections and fill your choice.
If you want to do the shirt like mine, I included the fill. You can create a striped fill using different colors if you like. This is going to seem a little different, so don't panic. It will work.
NOTE ~ First you will need to deselect the selection (Ctrl+D) Open the fill included in the zip file to use as the pattern fill.
I used Angle 0 - Scale 200
Flood Fill the whole layer (Yes, the whole thing!)
Effects - Geometric Effects - Perspective-Vertical

  • Distortion (-50)
  • Transparent
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – shirt1-cp
Use the Mover Tool to drag to where you would like the design.
The image below show where I placed mine

Selections – Invert
Tap the Delete key on the keyboard

Click on pencil-cp layer on Layer Palette.

Place what ever you would like on the paper and hat.

You may delete background layer (bottom layer), merge visible and SAVE!

I reduced 80% and added two more gb bases with a left/right rotation of 20% in the display image.
