This tutorial uses a different
technique. You will only see the canvas in the downloaded file.
Everything you need is on the canvas. Make sure you have your Layer
Palette visible. You will Load from the Alpha Channel (not Selections).
Download
Supplies HERE
Duplicate (Shift D) and close original to save for another use.
Save in PSP format and name as you wish.
I included the settings needed for the gradient used on the tie if you would like to use.
Place in your Jasc Gradient folder or folder you keep your gradients in.
(PSP7) gingerbread tie-cp.jgd
(PSP8) gingerbread tie-cp.PspGradient
I left a background layer.
You may want to flood fill to help you see better.
You can delete this layer before merging.
Have you Layer Palette open
GINGERBREAD BASE
Please go HERE and complete the base for all the gingerbread series.
Have the image open and ready to use along with the open canvas for this tutorial.

CHALKBOARD
Click on chalkboard-cplayer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – chalkboard1-cp
Flood Fill #9BC696
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – chalkboard2-cp
Flood Fill #C0C0C0
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail 1-cp
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B)
You may have to vary these setting if you use another fill or color.
- Brightness (-100)
- Contrast 50
SAVE
GINGERBREAD
Click on gbread base layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – gb base-cp
Click on the base image (Ctrl C) to copy.
Click back on the gingerbread teacher image (Ctrl+Shift+L) to paste into selection.
ERASER
Click on eraser-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – eraser1-cp
Flood Fill #808080
Optional ~ Add Noise - Uniform - 20
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – eraser2-cp
Flood Fill #404040
CHALK
Click on chalk-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – chalk-cp

Click on shirt-cp layer on Layer Palette.

Click on pants-cp layer on Layer Palette.

Click on belt-cp layer on Layer Palette.

Select None (Ctrl+D)
Effects - 3D - Inner Bevel

TIE
Click on tie-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – tie-cp
Flood Fill any color, pattern or the gradient I made.
Here are the colors I used with it, but you may use whatever you like.
Foreground color #D5D5D5
Background color to #933903
Click on the Foreground color on the Materials Palette
Select the Gradient Tab
On arrow for Drop Down, select gingerbread tie-cp
- Angle 350
- Repeats 6
- Linear Style
If you use the gradient, put the Foreground back to the solid color.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail 5-cp
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - same settings
Effects - 3D - Drop Shadow
- Vertical & Horizontal 0
- Opacity 70
- blur 4
COLLAR
Click on collar-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – collar-cp
Flood Fill #CFD6E1
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail 6-cp
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - same settings
GLASSES
Click on glasses-cplayer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – glasses-cp
Flood Fill #434E60
POINTER
Click on pointer-cp layer on Layer Palette.
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – pointer1-cp
Flood Fill #C38757
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – pointer2-cp
Flood Fill #C0C0C0
Selections – Load from Alpha Channel – detail 7B-cp
Adjust - Brightness/Contrast (Shift+B) - same settings
You may delete background layer (bottom layer), merge visible and SAVE!
